IGBT/MOSFET Gate Drivers Optocouplers
Optoelectronic IGBT/MOSFET Gate Drivers utilizing Optoplanar® coplanar packaging technology and optimized IC design to achieve high insulation voltage and high noise immunity, characterized by high common mode rejection. These devices offer a 1,414 V peak working voltage to permit the device to directly drive medium power IGBTs. The use of P-channel MOSFETs at output stage enable lower dynamic power consumption per cycle during switching that current solutions.
ON Semiconductor's Infrared product family includes discrete light emitting diodes (Gallium arsenide or GaAs, and Aluminum gallium arsenide or AlGaAs), discrete silicon photodetectors (photodiodes, phototransistors, photodarlingtons and OPTOLOGIC® IC detectors), assemblies for optical interrupter switches and reflective sensors.
Infrared devices are used in various end product applications for position or motion sensing (e.g. office equipment, industrial control, and appliances) as well as environment sensors (e.g. smoke detectors) and optical data transmission (e.g. remote control and meter reading).
Available in a variety of plastic, through-hole and surface- mount packages, infrared devices are built from wafers grown from the most up-to-date processes and materials - III-V for the Light emitting diodes and silicon for the detectors. All products are lead (Pb) free and RoHS compliant.
ON Semiconductor's portfolio is a combination of mature products, which have been used for 20 years in long lasting industrial applications, and innovative products for the fast changing applications in the industrial and medical segments.
High Performance Optocouplers
ON Semiconductor's 3.3V/5V high-speed logic gate optocouplers support isolated communications between systems without conducting ground loops or hazardous voltages. Each high-speed optocoupler utilizes ON Semiconductor’s patented coplanar packaging technology, Optoplanar® and optimized design. This achieves excellent noise immunity, characterized by high common mode transient immunity and power supply rejection specifications, and allows these devices to operate in noisy industrial environments (100% better than our closest competitors).
By combining the reliable isolation, high integration of 2 optocoupler channels in bi-directional configuration, the newly released FOD8012 allows system engineers to design a robust system, with low transmission error rate and low system failure rate. This solution provides a proven reliability over extended periods of time required for industrial systems, at a low cost of design and component.
Realize increased design margins and stable parameters in high temperature environments with ON Semiconductor's new FODM8801 OptoHiT™ high temperature phototransistor optocoupler. Achieve high noise immunity and reliable isolation at high operating temperatures, up to 125°C, as this new series implements ON Semiconductor's proprietary OPTOPLANAR® coplanar packaging technology. In addition, the FODM8801 offers excellent CTR linearity and operates at a very low input current (IF). The optocoupler consists of an aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) infrared light emitting diode optically coupled to a phototransistor.
Because the FODM8801 is packaged in a compact, half-pitch, mini-flat, 4-pin package (1.27mm lead pitch), benefits also include board space savings and design flexibility, ultimately allowing for overall reductions in system cost.
