Viewing systems are primarily for driver safety, convenience and orientation. Modern systems include navigation, annotation, and front view images to form an Augmented Reality (AR) Heads Up Display (HUD). Surround view combines multiple image sensor sources to generate a complete wrap around view all around the vehicle. This is extremely useful while parking or navigating tight spaces. Mirror replacement eliminates side mirrors, which further improves aerodynamics and lowers weight. This saves costs and improves mileage or battery life in electric vehicles. Rear view cameras are the most familiar to us as they have been required in vehicles for years. Rear view cameras increase the driver’s awareness of what is behind the vehicle, improving safety and making it easier to back up accurately.
