ON Semiconductor Introduces Rectifier CD-ROM with Parametric Search Features

Phoenix, AZ - November 9, 1999 - ON Semiconductor today announced the development of a new searchable CD-ROM for its extensive portfolio of Schottky, Ultrafast, Fast Recovery and Standard Recovery rectifiers. The CD-ROM is designed to allow engineers to quickly and effortlessly select the exact device that best fits their application. The CD-ROM offers a complete collection of ON Semiconductor's rectifier information in one location.

The rectifier CD-ROM contains a selector guide, data sheets, device cross references and application notes in pdf format. Also included are device reliability data, packaging and thermal specifications as well as SPICE and SABER models.

The selector guide provided in the rectifier CD-ROM is complete with pull down menus that offer device selections by both package and technology. A picture of the devices simplifies the selection process and the data sheets can be viewed and printed directly from the selector guide screen. Equipped with unique search capabilities, the CD-ROM device searches can be conducted based on the following parameters: IO, VRRM, IFSM, VF, TRR and package. The rectifier CD-ROM is user friendly and easy to use.

Both the selector guide and the search function included in the CD-ROM, provide the user the capability to print a report containing the results of his search. A library of rectifier and rectifier related application notes is available in pdf format. In the applications notes section, there is a complete rectifier handbook which contains everything a designer may want to know about rectifiers. There is also a brochure on Thermal Modeling and Management of Discrete Surface Mount Packages in pdf format.

For easy access to the ON Semiconductor web site, a selection button is incorporated into the menu. It enables the user to quickly access information on other ON Semiconductor discrete, analog, power and logic products and requires an Internet connection to use. This rectifier CD-ROM is compatible with both Windows 99 and Macintosh platforms and includes a downloadable Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing the pdf files.
