The number of imaging cameras is steadily increasing as the automotive industry works rapidly toward fully autonomous vehicles. Our Modular Automotive Reference System is designed to help automotive manufacturers take their vehicles to the next level of autonomy. We recently took our Modular Automotive Reference System from the lab setting and into the real world with this video showcasing the imaging capabilities of MARS on the road.

At ON Semiconductor we have a test vehicle where automotive ecosystems configured with our image sensor products are put into action. The test vehicle is built to be outfitted with any one of our ecosystem partner platforms. It's also built to run with our MARS system which can equip a car with more than twelve image sensors.

MARS will allow you to connect virtually any sensor to any transmission protocol and ISP, and allow you to mix and match at a very rapid pace for development. It is also able to connect into any of our partner platforms, or even able to connect into our DevWare platform, and that allows us to capture data for post-processing so we can analyze and see how we can both improve the tuning of the sensor as well as the image quality of the sensor.
