Phoenix, AZ - June 5, 2000 - ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq:ONNN), one of the world's largest suppliers of analog ICs, logic ICs, and discrete semiconductors, has initiated a cellular phone donation program to assist in the battle waged against domestic violence. ON Semiconductor has donated in excess of 100 cellular phones, batteries and charging sets to the National Call to Protect Program. The phones will be used by victims of domestic violence when threatening situations arise that require a call for help.

The donated phones are programmed to dial only one number - 911, for emergencies. Individuals considered at-risk will be able to acquire the phones by contacting the Arizona Foundation for Women at (602) 221-4666. Arizona Foundation for Women personnel will then decide who will receive a cellular phone and for how long. All cellular phones, batteries and charging sets will be presented to the Foundation located at 201 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85073 on June 5, 2000.

"ON Semiconductor intends to establish a relationship with each of the communities that it is a part of", said Joe Patricca, Community Relations Manager for ON Semiconductor. "The phone donation program demonstrates ON Semiconductor's commitment to issues faced by the community and continues the company's tradition of community outreach."

"Putting a mobile phone in the hands of domestic violence victims can actually mean the difference between life and death," said Jill Faver, Executive Director for the Arizona Foundation for Women. "We are thrilled that ON Semiconductor is supporting this program and we thank their generous employees."

The Arizona Foundation for Women was founded to help all women and children reach their full potential. The mission is to fund projects and programs that enhance the lives of women and children in Arizona. The foundation's priorities are domestic violence, child abuse and teen pregnancy prevention.
