온세미, 배런스 ‘2023 지속 가능한 100대 미국 기업’ 선정

2023년 4월 3일 - 지능형 전력 및 센싱 기술의 선도 기업인 온세미 (나스닥: ON)는 배런스(Barron’s)의 '지속 가능한 100대 미국 기업’에 선정됐다고 발표했다. 배런스는 매년 1,000개의 대형 상장 기업을 대상으로 230개의 환경, 사회, 지배구조(ESG) 성과 지표를 평가해 지속 가능한 100대 기업을 선정한다. 온세미는 지난 2018년 처음으로 포함되어 6년 연속 선정됐다.

이러한 선정 결과는 연례 지속 가능성 보고서에서 다뤄지는 지속 가능성 및 ESG 목표의 관리, 실행, 공개에 대한 온세미의 리더십을 입증한다. 해당 보고서는 지표와 목표에 대한 진척도를 포함한 모든 정보를 공개하고 있다. 또한 온세미는 GRI(Global Reporting Initiative), SASB(Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) , TCFD(Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosure) , CDP(구 기후 공개 프로젝트(Climate Disclosure Project)) 등 ESG보고 프레임워크와 공시를 작성 및 게시하여, 이해관계자들에게 ESG 성과에 대한 투명성을 제공하고 다양한 지표에서 일관된 비교를 할 수 있도록 지원한다.

온세미의 지속가능성 및 ESG 총괄 겸 선임이사인 김루우(Kim Luu)는 "ESG 데이터는 기업을 전반적으로 평가하는 데 필요한 정보를 제공하여 투자 결정에서 중요한 역할을 한다. ESG 분석이 투자 프로세스에서 점점 중요해지고 있는 만큼 투자자와 기타 이해관계자가 이러한 데이터에 접근할 수 있도록 보장하고, 비즈니스 전략과 운영에 기후 복원력을 구축하는 방법을 전달하여 기업 가치를 창출한다”고 전했다.

온세미는 공시를 통해 ISS(Institutional Shareholders Services) , MSCI(Morgan Stanley Capital International) 및 서스테이널리틱스(Sustainalytics) 등 주요 ESG 평가 회사에서 업계 최고 수준의 평가 점수를 받아 배런스 선정 지속가능성 100대 기업에 이름을 올렸다.

한편, 배런스는ESG 투자 분야 선두주자인 캘버트(Calvert) 와 협력해 지속 가능한 기업 목록을 발표한다. 캘버트는 ISS, MSCI, 서스테이널리틱스 등 7개 평가 기관의230개 이상의 ESG 성과 지표와 기타 데이터, 자사의 내부 연구 등을 검토한다. 그리고 시장 가치 기준 1,000대 상장 기업부터 시작해 주주, 직원, 고객, 커뮤니티, 지구라는 총 다섯 가지의 주요 구성 요소에서 거둔 성과에 따라 각 기업의 순위를 매긴다.
