The portfolio of Low Voltage, High-Performance Optocouplers from ON Semiconductor consists of AlGaAs (Aluminum Gallium Arsenide) LEDs optically coupled to high-speed photodetector transistors. These devices support isolated communications allowing digital signals to communicate between systems without conducting ground loops or hazardous voltages. The ideal performance characteristics and features provided by the portfolio include low power consumption, very high speed, high noise immunity characterized by common mode transient immunity (CMTI), Common Mode Rejection (CMR), and Power Supply Rejection (PSR) specifications, logic gate output, wired OR-open collector, and fixed threshold detector design to minimize the thermal impact on switching times. These optocouplers operate over an extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to up to 110°C on select devices. The devices achieve the following safety and regulatory approvals: UL1577, DIN-EN/IEC60747-5-5, and IEC60747-5-2, pending approval. The low voltage high performance optocouplers from ON Semiconductor are well suited to Energy Generation & Distribution, Industrial Motor, Uninterruptible Power Supply, Microprocessor System Interface, Industrial Field Bus Communications, Programmable Logic Control, Isolated Data Acquisition System, and Voltage Level Translator applications.
