 # Introduction

The purpose of this topic is to introduce many of the Markdown and Plugin formatting tools that can be used to organize and enhance the presentation a topic.

It will cover several of the most essential basic Markdown formatting commands, as well as our supported LaTeX Math and GraphVIZ plugins.

Please note, several of the Markdown formatting tools (quote, bold, italic, hyperlink, inline code, file attachments and lists) can be applied directly from the editor option bar when you are writing a topic.
