Overview

The NCS35011GEVK evaluation board demonstrates the functionality of the NCS35011 lithium-ion battery manager. The NCS35011 manages packs with 3 to 5 series-connected cells.
Each cell in the battery pack is monitored for an over-voltage (OV) and under-voltage (UV) condition. Upon detecting an over-voltage, the ODI pin is asserted, indicating the fault condition. It stays asserted until the fault is cleared.
When an under-voltage condition is detected, the UDI pin is also asserted. In contrast to ODI, the fault indication is not static but pulsed. The pulse width is pre-set in the protector. Both OV and UV detections have a factory-configured detection delay time before a fault is signalled.
The NCS35011 also offers an accurate state-of-charge indication through up to 5 LED outputs.
