Phoenix, AZ - July 20, 2000 - ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a leading provider of analog ICs, logic ICs and discrete semiconductors for wireless and communications applications, today announced it is now offering bias resistor transistors (BRTs) in two additional packages, the SC-75, one of the smallest packages in the industry and the TO-92 package. This news comes on the heels of a recent ON Semiconductor announcement regarding other discrete semiconductors newly housed in the SC-75 package.
One of ON Semiconductor's top selling products, these BRTs are pervasive in wireless, portable and other communication applications. They are general-purpose transistors combined with two resistors in one chip. This type of integration enables designers to create more compact and cost-effective end products.
The availability of these popular devices in the SC-75 package enables the migration from the SOT-23, SC-70 or SOD-123 packages to a smaller foot print, offering a sixty percent space savings over the SOT-23 and 30 percent over the SC-70. This compact profile and footprint make products in this package a natural choice for designs with real estate constraints. Furthermore, these products offer additional options in board space savings and through-hole applications.
The newly available products are the DTA114EET1 series, DTA143EE, DTC114E Series, DTC114EET1 series, DTC114TE, and DTA114E series. The BRTs available in the SC-75 package are priced are priced at a resale value of $0.055 per 3k unit quantities. The BRTs available in the TO-92 package are priced are priced at a resale value of $0.042 per 5k unit quantities.
