Phoenix, Arizona, November 11, 1999 - ON Semiconductor, formerly a division of Motorola, today announced a restructuring of its global distribution network. The company will go to market with three major global distributors and other regional specialized distributors. The three global distributors are Avnet, Arrow, and VEBA but will not include Future.
According to Rob Kirk, ON Semiconductor's global distribution sales director, "We are focusing our distribution strategy on the largest global distributors who are consolidating the distribution channel. These companies have been chosen because of their leadership in global supply chain management. We are confident that our selected distributors will help ON Semiconductor's customers obtain the services and product availability they need."
Regional and specialized distributors are authorized to provide additional support for the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Japan and Asia-Pacific regions. As announced last week, ON Semiconductor has added Rochester Electronics to focus on end of life issues. A complete list of the distributors can be found here.
