New “ON Power Designer” software simplifies development of complete power supplies for computing, LCD monitors, battery chargers, wall adapters, household appliances and more

Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC), Anaheim, Calif. – Feb. 23, 2004 – As part of its ongoing effort to simplify the design of various power supplies, ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) today introduced ON Power Designer, a complimentary power supply design, analysis and simulation software developed by Ridley Engineering, Inc.

Powered by a customized version of POWER 4-5-6 Plus - the industry’s most comprehensive design software - ON Power Designer enables successful first-pass design of complete power supplies for systems that support input levels of 85 volts (V) to 260 V. This new NCP120x software is ideal for development of active and standby power supplies for computing, LCD monitors, battery chargers, wall adapters, household appliances and many other applications requiring custom power solutions.

The Future of Power
The Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) recently reported that improved power supply efficiency and shorter time-to-market schedules are going to be critical factors for manufacturers to achieve success in the power supply market.
