SHENZEN, China – Dec. 9, 2008 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a global leader in high performance, energy efficient, silicon solutions, today announced that it has opened a joint power laboratory with TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited (TCL Multimedia, HKSE: 1070) in China, to better serve the needs of customer-focused power solutions for LCD and CRT television sets.
The new lab is located at TCL Multimedia’s global research and development (R&D) center in Shenzhen. Joint development efforts at the lab will focus on leading-edge and cost-effective power solutions for TCL Multimedia’s industry-leading TV products.

ON Semiconductor will assign resident field application engineers to work at the joint lab with TCL Multimedia’s R&D teams across LCD and CRT TV product lines.
The facility brings the total number of joint power labs that ON Semiconductor has opened in China to eight, following the successful establishment of joint labs with other leading China companies including Changhong, Haier, Hisense, Malata, Skyworth and Xoceco.
