The MC33565 is an intelligent regulator that enables switching between the main 5 volt supply and the 3.3 volt auxiliary supply and manages power efficiently when the system is inactive. The MC33567 is a dual linear controller that simplifies power management on computer motherboards.

The MC33565 is a 200mA Smart Voltage Regulator for Peripheral Card Applications, complying with the instantly available requirements as specified by the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) guidelines. It is designed specifically for network interface cards, PCMCIA / PCI Interface cards, desktop computers, motherboards / mainboards and power supplies with multiple VINs.
The MC33565 provides a regulated output voltage of 3.3 volts via an internal low dropout 5.0V-to-3.3V voltage regulator or an internal P-channel MOSFET, depending on system requirements. Housed in a small SO-8 package, this smart IC is equipped with the necessary internal logic circuitry to detect whether the system is being powered from the main 5 volt power supply or the 3.3 volt auxiliary supply, and to ensure that the peripheral card is supplied with a constant and 'glitch-free' 3.3 volts, even during transitions to and from 'sleep' mode. Other features include low dropout voltage, output regulated to 2% over temperature, excellent line and load regulation and no reverse current flow during sleep mode.
The MC33567, referred to as the Dual Linear Controller for High Current Voltage Regulation, is a dual power supply controller that provides reliable regulation of high current supply planes. This advanced linear IC provides the necessary drive, sense and control signals to interface two separate N-channel MOSFETs as individual series pass elements regulating two different supply planes. The MC33567 will interface two separate N-channel MOSFETs, such as SOT-223, DPAK and D2PAK MOSFETs,
The MC33567 detects under-voltage conditions and places the system operation into a protected 'hiccup' mode, preventing any damage to the system and permitting recovery after the short circuit condition is corrected.
Offered in a space saving SO-8 package, this advanced linear IC minimizes the number of interconnections on the motherboard which results in simpler design architecture and lower total power supply costs.
The MC33567 is available in two versions. The MC33567-1 controls two separate series pass transistors to provide regulation for separate 1.5 volt and 1.8 volt supply planes. The MC33567-2 controls two separate series pass transistors to provide regulation for separate 2.5 volt supply planes.
