PHOENIX, Ariz. – Aug. 10, 2016 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ON), driving energy efficiency innovations, today announced that board member Dr. Curtis J. Crawford was named to Savoy Magazine’s prestigious Power 300 list of the 2016 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors. Savoy developed this list by conducting extensive research and analysis of African-American leaders active on the boards of the world’s leading corporations and organizations.
Since ON Semiconductor’s founding in 1999, Dr. Crawford’s steadfast leadership has been essential to the company’s growth from $1.785 billion in revenue that first year, to $3.496 billion in 2015. He was also instrumental in the organization’s transformation from the standard components spinoff of Motorola into a strong, multimarket player with a significant offering of proprietary devices, including its current status as a Top 20 semiconductor company and a market-share leader in automotive and security image sensors.
“On behalf of our nearly 25,000 global employees, I want to congratulate Dr. Crawford on this prestigious and well-deserved honor,” said Keith Jackson, president and CEO at ON Semiconductor. “Our company remains committed to diversity and inclusion, recognizing that ON Semiconductor is at its strongest when we are effectively drawing upon the wide variety of experiences, knowledge, culture, customs and backgrounds from all employees and leaders. Dr. Crawford exemplifies the very best that this diversity of thinking has to offer, and his excellent contributions have been key to our success from the beginning.”
As an ongoing effort to promote greater diversity and inclusion within ON Semiconductor, the company recently launched a Diversity and Inclusion initiative in the U.S., which is sponsored and governed by a Senior Leader Diversity and Inclusion council. The council will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, direction and support. Areas of focus for the council will include workplace inclusion, workforce diversity and community partnerships.
To advance this important initiative, the council will sponsor Affinity Network Groups. These groups will help facilitate networking and cultural awareness, encourage recruitment, and provide employee development and retention along with increased collaboration and innovation. ON Semiconductor’s first official Affinity Network Groups are Women’s Leadership and STEM UP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for under-represented populations). The company will establish additional Affinity Network Groups to support and develop employees, and to respond to changing business requirements.
