TOKYO, Japan – October 1, 2020 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ON), driving energy efficient innovations, announced that Masayasu Yamashita has been promoted to president and representative director of ON Semiconductor Japan, Ltd. to lead and manage the sales and marketing operations in Japan. Yamashita is also concurrently serving as the corporate vice president of Japan regional sales in order to expand its Japan business and align with corporate strategies in key markets.
“Yamashita has more than 30 years of semiconductor industry experience and has served at ON Semiconductor for over 12 years leading our sales team in Japan,” said Paul Rolls, executive vice president, sales and marketing for ON Semiconductor. “Most recently he drove automotive sales and the field application engineer organization in Japan. He is effective in engaging in the global marketplace and will further strengthen our footprint in Japan with our valued customers.”
The Japan market plays an important role in driving the company’s focus on strategic markets of automotive, industrial and cloud power and the Internet of Things. ON Semiconductor’s continued investment in the region provides a reliable supply chain network for its Japanese customer base which includes product development design centers, manufacturing facilities, a solution engineering center and fault analysis capability.
