Steven Shackell

Applications and Marketing Engineer, Small Signal Division
Steven Shackell earned a BSE degree (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from Arizona State University in 2012. He joined ON Semiconductor in 2010 as an intern for the Small Signal Division. Upon graduation Steven was hired as a Product Engineer. He later transitioned to his current role as an Applications and Marketing Engineer. His emphasis is on the wireless market where his responsibilities are defining new products, evaluating components in customer applications, and promotion of Small Signal Discretes.

Wireless devices such as smartphones and tablets are becoming the lifeline for most people.  Ensuring that this lifeline has power when needed is a major concern.  System designers therefore look at every aspect to minimize power loss.  To help realize that every device matters, we will look at the Schottky diode in the boost converter for the LED backlight.
