The portfolio of single and dual-channel Photo Darlington Output Optocouplers from ON Semiconductor consists of one gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared light-emitting diode, optically coupled to a photodarlington output with a base-emitter resistor, in compact 4, 6, or 8−pin packages. The input−output isolation voltage, VISO, is rated at 2,500 to 5,000 VAC RMS. The portfolio's ideal performance characteristics and features include High Sensitivity to Low Input Drive Current and Current Transfer Ratio Min 500 to 1000% (at IF = 1 mA, VCE = 2 V, TA = 25°C). The devices achieve the following safety and regulatory approvals: UL1577, DIN-EN/IEC60747-5-5 (565 to 850 volts Peak Working Insulation Voltage), and meets or exceeds all JEDEC registered specifications. The Photo Darlington Optocouplers are ideal for high-density applications, such as AC-DC Merchant Power Supplies, Consumer Appliances, Industrial Motors, Power Supply Regulators, Digital Logic Inputs, Microprocessor Inputs, and Programmable Controllers.
