I am using the MC33262DR2G to control a flyback power supply in an LED lighting application. During overstress temperature testing I ran the LEB lamps in a thermal chamber to temperatures over 100C. At some point the lamp went out. Later, when I cooled the unit and reapplied power the lamp came back on. My question: Is there a thermal over temperature circuit that would shut the MC33262DR2G off at high junction temperature such as 150 C? I do not see this in the datasheet, but would like to find out if there is an undocumented over temperature shutdown feature. Please send my any available information.

There is not an over-temperature shutdown feature present in the MC33262. The MC33262 electrical parameters are only guaranteed for an ambient temperature up to 105 degrees C, so there may be a parameter(s) that is modified at a higher temperature that causes the lamp to turn off. It may be helpful to determine the exact temperature that causes the lamp to turn off while monitoring system operation. Answered by:
