I recently moved into a new house where the rooms have got dimmer switches with Halogen bulbs. I would like to replace the Halogen bulbs with LED bulbs. How do I know if the LED bulbs will work with the existing dimmer switches? will it be trial and error or do I need to buy a special dimmer module?
Thanks in advance
Our application note AND8448 configuring the NCL30000 for triac dimming describes the basics of line dimming and describes how the NCL30000 single stage power factor corrected flyback controller can be optimized to control the drive current of an LED string with a standard wall dimmer.
