Hello, we use the MC100EP52 ECL D-flipFlop. To terminate the line it is usual to use 50 Ohm resistors. Wich is the right value or circuit to terminate one output and four ecl input devices ?? With bestregards Norbert Ramm

The MC100EP52 ECL D flip-flop has differential open emitter outputs, Q & Qb. Both outputs require a DC bias path to VEE. If VCC = 3.3V, connect a 120-ohm resistor from each output to VEE.

AC Termination can be accomplished with a 100-ohm resistor across the outputs at the receiver end.

It is important that the differential outputs be DC loaded and AC terminated equally.

Please reference Termination of ECL Devices with EF OUTPUT Structure Application Note for more info on DC load and termination of ECL outputs.
