Data Sheet for the voltage suppressor ESD Protection Diodes (SZESD9R3.3S) mentions that the SZ prefix is for Automotive and Other Applications Requiring "Unique Site and Control Change Requirements". Can someone explain what the "Unique Site and Control Change Requirements" are? I'm not sure what they are talking about. Thanks
The manufacturing process for an SZ prefix part is more controlled than a standard part by only sourcing a single die and assembly site that must be AEC-Q101 Qualified and PPAP capable. In order to change manufacturing sites for a given SZ prefix part, it would require a more rigorous customer acceptance process.
