Hello, I am looking for a component which can provide enough protection for the Pulse 5b disturbanse which requested in ISO16750-2:2012, with the parameter td=400ms, Us=87V, Ri=0.5ohm. Do you have a recommendation on the part number of On-semi products? Thanks.

I cannot recommend a specific ON semiconductor part to protect an un-clamped Pulse 5b as the power dissipation is too large for any of our current TVS products. If Pulse 5b is clamped (typically to 36 or 40V), I can recommend something from our 1SMC or 1.5SMC series of TVS diodes that will effectively suppress the other ISO Pulses (1-4) and be transparent to the clamped 5b pulse. If needed, the VBR of the SMC device can be chosen such that it will help to additionally suppress a clamped 5b pulse. In this case, the min VBR of the TVS will have to be chosen very close to the clamped voltage of the 5b pulse. This would help protect the TVS from damage by not allowing a large current through (and subsequently high power dissipation) the TVS. Answered by:
