For more than 30 years, mil/aero customers have depended on us for a reliable combination of technology, engineering services and customer support. We have a strong position in applications for commercial avionics and military communications. Our digital and mixed-signal ASICs have been designed into products ranging from "smart" missile guidance systems to flight management control systems on commercial airliners. Environmental PerformanceMilitary and aerospace markets drive a unique set of requirements needing to withstand harsh environmental conditions. In addition to robust silicon technologies characterized over extended temperature range, we support a suite of hermetic packaging critical for withstanding high reliability end applications. Special HandlingThe need for a reliable, secure supply chain is a requirement across all military market segments including ground, avionics and space. For many projects the U.S. government requires front-to-back on-shore handling that includes design, mask and silicon manufacture, assembly and test. We continue to expand our offering for on-shore design-thru-packaging and test while many ASIC suppliers are moving away from this unique manufacturing model. With a long history of supporting the military market, we will continue to maintain ITAR certification and QML flows required for military designs (US DoD). Application-Specific OfferingsWe are a leading supplier of structured ASIC and cell-based digital solutions supporting a wide range of applications in the military and aerospace markets.
Our industry ground-breaking XPressArray® family of products include XPressArray-II, the next generation 0.15µm structured ASIC. The revolutionary XPressArray addresses the NRE and time-to-market concerns of cell-based ASICs and allows for competitive recurring pricing for low to medium volume applications typical in the military and aerospace markets. Users can integrate up to 3.9M ASIC gates and 4.8M bits of memory in XPressArray-II with operating speeds up to 500MHz. In addition to the digital technologies offered, AMIS supports a broad range of analog technologies from 0.5µm down to 0.18µm. Rigid QualityMilitary and aerospace applications have historically driven the highest quality levels for ASIC vendors. We satisfy these most stringent quality standards, and has been certified to the requirements of the MIL-PRF-38535 quality specification. We were one of the first microelectronic companies to achieve full certification to the ISO/TS (Technical Specification) 16949 standard, and is also certified to meet QML, ISO900, TL9000, STACK, and QS9000 quality standards. With outgoing quality rates approaching 1ppm, military and aerospace customers have come to depend on our unwavering commitment to world-class quality and continuous improvement. Process LongevityWe understand that military and aerospace manufacturers need the security of process longevity that matches the long lives of their products, which sometimes extends 10 years or more. Our modularized wafer fab enables the company to offer extended process longevities and flexible end-of-life obsolescence terms to its customers. This unique fab approach also allows us to support the low volume requirements of military and aerospace customers, whose typically low volumes have made it difficult for them to engage with other ASIC suppliers. Solutions Meeting Unique Military & Aerospace RequirementsGround: Terrestrial & BattlefieldThe ground segment, including terrestrial military/intelligence communications and battlefield C4I, seeks assured access implemented with a low power single chip device. With an emphasis on secure handling and meeting the demand for trusted access, we are focusing on providing the following solutions: Air: Avionics & MunitionsWe have over two decades experience serving both commercial and military aircraft applications, including tactical missiles and munitions. Our unique ability to serve these segments is enabled by: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) have emerged with aerospace system mandates using design assurance guidelines (DO-254 and ED-80) to ensure complex electronic hardware devices contained in aircraft perform their intended function. We work closely with major aerospace system design companies to support their DO-254 and ED-80 compliance needs to ensure flawless in-flight system performance. Space: Satellites & Launch VehiclesSpace electronics applications require the most stringent adherence to mission and flight critical reliability. This drives the requirement for products that are characterized to extended temperature ranges, are QML-qualified, and have high degrees of radiation assurance. |
