Gelu Voicu joined ON Semiconductor in October 2008 as a Senior Vice President and continues his role as President of Catalyst Semiconductor, which was acquired by ON Semiconductor. He is responsible for analog, mixed-signal and non-volatile memory ICs for telecommunications, networking systems, computation, automotive, industrial and consumer markets. Prior to joining ON Semiconductor Gelu was also chief executive officer and a board member of Catalyst Semiconductor from 2002 until its acquisition. He joined Catalyst Semiconductor in 1993 and held several management positions including executive vice president and chief operating officer, vice president of engineering and manufacturing, flash product line director and manager of product engineering. Prior to joining Catalyst Semiconductor Gelu was with Cypress Semiconductor, Inc., most recently as senior product engineer. Gelu holds an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnical Institute, Bucharest, Romania.
