Curtis J. Crawford, a Director since September 1999. Dr. Crawford served as our Chairman of the Board from
September 1999 until his resignation from that position in April 2002. Dr. Crawford is Founder, President and Chief
Executive Officer of XCEO, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in leadership and corporate governance that
provides mentoring and support for executives. Prior to founding XCEO, Inc., he was the President and Chief
Executive Officer of Onix Microsystems, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of optically transparent switches for
communication networks, from February 2002 to April 2003. From 1999 to March 2001, he was Chairman, and
from 1998 to March 2001, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Zilog, Inc., a semiconductor design,
manufacturing and marketing company. From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Crawford was Group President of the
Microelectronics Group and President of the Intellectual Property division of Lucent Technologies. From 1995 to
1997, he was President of the Microelectronics Group. From 1993 to 1995, Dr. Crawford was President of AT&T
Microelectronics, a business unit of AT&T Corporation. From 1991 to 1993, he held the position of Vice President
and Co-Chief Executive Officer of AT&T Microelectronics. From 1988 to 1991, he held the position of Vice
President, Sales, Service and Support for AT&T Computer Systems. Prior to 1988, he served in various sales,
marketing and executive management positions at various divisions of IBM. Dr. Crawford currently serves as a
member of the board of trustees of DePaul University and as a member of the boards of directors of ITT Industries,
Inc., and E.I. du Pont de Nemours. Dr. Crawford is the author of two books on leadership and corporate governance.
